Wilbur T. Deal age 83 of Fremont passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Methodist Fremont Health. He was born November 23, 1938, in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
He grew up at Fort Dodge and serviced us in the U.S. Army. After the military in 1983, he came to Fremont. He worked at Hormel in Fremont for many years before his retirement. Wilbur married Mary “Peg” (Guggisberg) on September 4, 1982 in Fremont.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Rod (Gigs) Deal of Fort Dodge, Todd Deal of Clive, Iowa, and Mike (Shawnda) Omann of Fort Dodge; daughters, Danielle Matthies of Fremont, Theresa Omann (Jeanett) of Ames, Iowa, and Shelly (Jeff) Goracke of Fremont; brother, Eddie (Colleen) Deal of Fort Dodge; sister, Janet of Duncomb, Iowa; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; sons, Rodrick Deal and Tim Omann; and brothers and sisters.
Celebration of Life service will be later this year.
