James Jerold House, 71, of Fremont, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, after his battle with cancer.
James was born Nov. 11, 1949, to Jerold and Anna (Belak) House in Gregory, SD. He graduated in 1968, from Fremont High School. After graduation he attended United Electronics Institute in Des Moines, Iowa, until drafted to serve in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. He married Lynette Peters on Sept. 4, 1976, in Scribner.
He was a member of the Fremont Area VFW, American Legion, DAV, and St. James Episcopal Church. He was very proud to be a Veteran and able to celebrate his birthday on Veteran’s day.
James is survived by his wife, Lyn; sons, Jeremy House of Omaha, and Jason (Meghan) House of Fremont; granddaughter, Stella House; sisters, Darlene (Ron) Petersen of Choctaw, OK, Marlene (Bob) Roumph of Millard, NE, Pearl (Larry) Clarke and Pam Peterson both of Fremont; brother and sister in laws, Lowell (Patty) Peters, Gayle (Nancy) Peters and Gary Peters of Scribner, Linda Giese of Lincoln, Lorna (Norman) Ruskamp of Dodge, NE; many nieces and nephews and special cousin Tony Belak.
Private family services will be held. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date due to Covid Restrictions.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Fremont’s Veterans Park, or Ave of Flags, or the Fremont Area Marine Corps League Detachment.
