Fremont Tiger Cross Country dominated the District meet at Pioneers Park on Thursday. The Girls won in convincing fashion. Ellie Dahl led the way, finishing 1st in 18:30.57.
Lucy Dillon took 5th, 20:12. Mia Wagner, 8th, 20:33. Maris Dahl, 11th, 20:50. Tiger Taylor McCabe finished 13th in 21:00, followed closely by Chloe Hemmer, 21:02. Avry Lafavor finished 19th in 21:38. Team scores had Fremont at 38, Gretna 2nd at 46. Omaha Westside 3rd at 52.
The Fremont Boys followed up with all 7 runners finishing in the Top 17. Elkhorn South’s Gabe Hinrichs was the individual District Champion, running an impressive 15:39.47.
But the Fremont team was right there. Braden Taylor finished 2nd in 16:32.5. Senior Carter Waters was just two tenths of second behind him in 16:32.71. Nolan Miller finished 4th in 16:34.6. Juan Gonzales was 8th, 16:44, Domingo Perez Ramos, 14th, 17:04.5, Junior (Francisco) Garcia Jr., 16th, 17:06.35, and Aaron Ladd 17th, 17:07.52.
Team scores had Fremont at 31, Lincoln East at 63, and Elkhorn South 75. The State Cross Country Championship are set for Thursday, Oct. 21st, in Kearney.
