The Fremont High football team played at Grand Island Friday night, 17-15.
Fremont will play at Omaha South, this Friday night.
The Fremont High boys finished third at the Heartland XCC Meet in Pella, Iowa, Saturday, with 117 points.  Millard West was first with 65.  Braden Taylor led Fremont, finishing eleventh in 15:59.2.  Derek Leicht of Dubuque Hempstead was first in 15:37.3.
The Archbishop Bergan football team defeated Omaha Concordia, 62-6, Friday night at Heedum Field.  Bergan is 4-0 and plays at David City, Friday night.
Midland University hit the links this weekend as they took part in the Lila Frommelt Fall Classic hosted by Briar Cliff University. The Warriors were one of 12 schools competing in the two-day, 36-hole event held at the Two Rivers Golf Club. Playing with a complete team for the first time this fall, they shot a score of 810 and placed 11th.
Winning the event was Iowa Western Community College. The Reivers shots a 10-over par, 596, and had three golfers in the top five individually.
Recording the lowest score for the Warriors was Erin Baum. She shot a 178 (36-over) and placed 34th. Joining her in representing Midland were: Claire Westerholt (200, 56th), Olivia Engel (203, 58th), and Charlie Hendry (229, 65th).
Looking ahead at the fall slate for Midland, next up is the Matthew Goette Fall Classic. The one-day event hosted by the College of Saint Mary will be on Tuesday, September 21 at Tiburon Golf Club in Omaha.
The Warriors women and men’s cross country teams ran at the Woody Greeno Invite in Lincoln, Saturday.  The men finished tenth out of 17  teams and the women were eleventh out of 13th.
The Midland Warrior football team won it’s homecoming game with a 27-14 victory over Dakota Wesleyan.  Midland is 2-2 and plays at Jamestown, Saturday, at 1pm.  The game will be broadcast on Big Dog Country, 98.9 FM and 1340 AM.
The top-ranked Midland Warrior volleyball team suffered it’s first loss of the season in a five-set thriller at Doane, Saturday.  The Tigers took the fifth and final set, 21-9.  Midland is 15-1 and plays at College of St. Mary, Wednesday night at 7:30.  The game will be broadcast on Mix 105.5 FM.
The Midland women and men’s soccer teams both earned shutout wins over Presentation College, Saturday night at Heedum Field.  The women won 4-0.  The men won 7-0.
The Warrior women are 3-4 on the season and host Bellevue, Wednesday.  The Warrior men are 4-2 and play at UNO, tonight at 7:00.

Lincoln’s Carrie Bostar is the Inaugural Nebraska Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, winning by three strokes at Fremont Golf Club on Sunday.
Bostar became the first player to hoist the Laura Saf Memorial Trophy after shooting a final round 79 (+4) to win by three strokes with a 151 (+1) total. Bostar is a former college golfer at Embry -Riddle University in Florida, lives in Lincoln now and was competing in her first NGA championship.
Five-time Nebraska Women’s Amateur Champion Sarah Sasse-Kildow of Lincoln finished runner-up at 154 (+4) with the low round of the day, a 78 (+3).
Anne Robertson of Columbus finished third at 158 (+8), while Bellevue’s Kayla Barnes was fourth at 161 (+11). Two players finished tied for fifth at 162 (+12), including Fremont’s Sophie Ullman and 18-time NGA champion Susan Marchese of Omaha.
