In high school softball Thursday night at Chaplain’s Field, the Fremont Tigers split a doubleheader with Lincoln Southeast.  The Knights won game one 17-6 in six innings, while Fremont won game two 6-1.  LSE is 6-14 on the season and plays in the Papillion LaVista Invite.  Fremont is 15-6 and plays a doubleheader at Columbus, Monday.
In high school volleyball Thursday night, Archbishop Bergan def. Douglas County West, 21-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-14 (3-1).  Bergan is 10-4 on the season.
The Midland women and men’s soccer teams hosted Jamestown, Thursday night at Heedum Field, in both games, the Jimmies defeated Midland 2-1 in double overtime.  The Warrior men are now 3-2 and 0-1 in the GPAC.  The Midland women are 2-4 and 0-1 in the league.

The No. 6 Nebraska volleyball team (6-2) plays its non-conference finale this Saturday, Sept. 18, welcoming No. 5 Louisville (9-0). First serve in the Huskers’ fourth straight top-20 matchup is set for 7 p.m. at the Devaney Center.
The Creighton Women’s Soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss at Iowa State on Thursday, Sept. 16 in the final non-conference match of 2021.
The loss dropped the Bluejays to 6-2-1 on the season, while Iowa State climbed to 3-4-0.
Creighton returns to the pitch on Thursday, Sept. 23 in the BIG EAST opener against No. 25 Georgetown at 7:00 pm.
Omaha volleyball hosted Weber State for its home opener. The Mavericks took the first, second, and fourth sets to take a 3-1 win over the Wildcats. Four players notched double-figure kills led by Sadie Limback with 19.
With the win the Mavericks improve to 3-6 overall.
The Mavericks host Kansas State on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. for the final match of the MH Hospitality Omaha Challenge.

The Omaha Storm Chasers lost their third straight game on Thursday at Werner Park, falling, 8-5, to the Iowa Cubs. Toledo clinched the Midwest Division with a win over Columbus, while Durham clinched the best record in Triple-A East with a win over Charlotte.
The Storm Chasers continue their six-game series with the Iowa Cubs on Friday, when right-hander Brandon Barker (1-3, 10.07) faces right-hander Joe Biagini (3-7, 5.65). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
