Fremont Public Schools issued its COVID-19 update on Friday. 
 
There were six students not in school due to a positive COVID-19 test. There were 44 students absent due to quarantine for exposure. There were 147 students absent for any illness. 
 
There were two employees not working due to a positive COVID-19 test while none were absent due to quarantine for exposure. The number of certified teaching staff not at work for any reason was 28. 
 
FPS continues to work directly with local public health officials and community leaders in regard to COVID-19 protocol. Officials said they are watching how the virus is spreading in surrounding communities, including Omaha and Lincoln.
 
The current number of students and staff out of school due to a positive test represents less than 1% of the FPS student body and staff.
