Three Rivers reports uptick in COVID-19 cases

The Three Rivers Public Health Department provided its COVID-19 update on Wednesday. 
 
In the past seven days, the three-county jurisdiction of Dodge, Saunders and Washington has had 166 cases. There have been 335 cases in the past 14 days. 
 
Officials report 196 COVID-19 positive inpatients in the Omaha Metropolitan Healthcare Coalition (OMHCC) region, including 28 on ventilators. 
 
“We have seen an uptick in the number of cases this week when compared to last week,” Three Rivers Public Health Department Executive Director Terra Uhing said. “COVID-19 is still here and we continue to urge you to get vaccinated to protect your loved ones.” 
 
Three Rivers has identified four new lab-confirmed variants of concern within the health district. The new variants of concern are the B.1.617 Delta variant (India). There are two in Dodge County and one each in Saunders and Washington. 
 
There were two new COVID-19 related deaths reported. That brings the total COVID-19 related deaths in the health district to 141.
 
Three Rivers will be taking the mobile vaccination trailer to the following locations on Saturday:
 

  • Kennard Auditorium, 305 West 2nd St., 9 to 11 a.m. 
  • Mead Village Office, 312 South Vine Street, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
