Charles M. Lange, age 89, of Scribner
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 9, 2021
Charles was born December 1, 1931 near Scribner, Nebraska to Otto and Nellie ‘Gritton’ Lange. He was raised in the Scribner area. He was baptized on March 26, 1933 at St. John’s Ridgeley Lutheran Church and confirmed on February 25, 1949 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He attended Scribner schools through the 10th grade then joined the United States Marine Corps and served from 1951 until 1954, serving part of that time in Korea.
He married Clara Mae Wagner on October 20, 1954, then he married Betty Zauss on October 1997. Charles was a lifetime resident of Scribner. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. He worked for Able Alfalfa, was a farmer and proud owner of Lange House & Bin Movers, and was active up until his death.

Charles was preceded in death by his wives Clara Mae and Betty, parents Otto and Nellie Lange, grandson Kurtis Lange, son-in-law Mike Stewart, step-daughter Deb Cox, 7 sisters and 1 brother.
The funeral will be 10am, Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Scribner. The Rev. Bruce Schut will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be Tuesday at Ludvigsen’s Scribner Funeral Chapel from 3pm to 8pm with the family present from 6pm to 8pm. Memorials may be directed to the family.
