Karen A. Carne, 76 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE. Karen was born on April 26, 1945 to Bernard and Bernice (Sweet) Mahrt in Fremont. She grew up on a farm near Prague, NE. Karen graduated from Archbishop Bergan High School in 1963.  In September of 1963, Karen married Floyd Donald Walling. Floyed passed away on May 30, 1971. Karen later married Gary Carne. They remained married over the years.
In 1993, Karen moved to Utah and moved back to Fremont in 2010. Karen spent most of her life raising and caring for her children and working in retail service. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed her bowling leagues. Most of her Saturday’s, she spent the afternoons with her sister playing cards and bunko with friends. Karen loved to find garage sales and accumulated many collections over the years. Gardening was another hobby that kept her busy, along with her maltese puppies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Bernice Mahrt; husband, Floyd; in-laws, Clyal and Julia Walling; sister, Jean Lovelace; brother-in-law, James Walling; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Walling.
She is survived by her children, James Walling, Vicki (Mark) Rishel, Jeffery Walling, and Jeremy Phillips; grandchildren, Mary Beth (Nathan) Ustohal, Jazmine Queen, and Daija Phillips; great grandchildren, Chasity Phillips and fiancé John Lovitt, Madison Ustohal, Ashlynn Ustohal, and Nathan Jr. Ustohal; grea-great grandson, Colton James Lovitt; brother, Bruce (Eileen) Mahrt; sister, Rosie Ibsen; brother-in-law, Thomas Walling; 3 step-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M., Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. There will be private family services. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
