Mother nature kept the First State Bank Senior Legion Baseball team from taking on Gretna last night. The two teams will make up their scheduled game in the future. The Juniors played prior to lightning halting play at Moller Field. Gretna was leading 4-1 in the top of the fifth inning. The completion of the game will be played July 8th, prior to both teams next scheduled game with each other.
The juniors and seniors play tonight at Beatrice. The juniors game is at 5pm, with the seniors at 7:30. The First State Reserves will host Lincoln Pius X, tonight at 6:30 at Nick Novak Field.
The Fremont Moo return to action, tonight, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, versus the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks. First pitch is 7:05pm. The game will be broadcast on Big Dog Country, 98.9 FM and 1340 AM.
At the College World Series in Omaha’s TD Ameritrade Park, Texas eliminated Tennessee, 8-4 and Mississippi State downed Virginia, 6-5. Tonight, Stanford and Vanderbilt play an elimination game at 6pm.
