Fremont – Dominant pitching by Fremont native Brody Sintek and an opportunistic offense propelled the Moo to a 9-0 win over Pierre (5-8) Friday night at historic Moller Field.
Sintek (3-0) threw six shutout innings, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out 10. Joe Richter struck out six in two innings of relief, while Ben Simonsen faced the minimum in the ninth to help the Moo finish their first shutout in 2021.
Offensively, the Moo (12-3) jumped all over Pierre. Darien Morphew led off the first with a single to right, extending his hitting streak to 14 games. Peyton Leeper followed with a single to right, moving Morphew to second. Then Luke White, in his first at-bat at home for the Moo in 2021 clocked a three-run home run to right-centerfield to give Fremont a 3-0 lead.

The Moo bats went quiet for a while, mustering just three walks in the next three innings. But with two outs in the fourth, White drew a walk. Taylor Howell followed with a single to left. Ryan Koski followed with a walk to load the bases, and Ryne Hays lined a single to left to score White. Koski rounded second and drew a wild throw from the Trappers’ catcher, allowing Howell to score to boost the Moo lead to 5-0.
Braden Webb led off the sixth with a home run, his first of the season, pushing Fremont’s lead to 6-0. Then in the seventh, four straight walks to Koski, Hays, Austin Baskin and Webb brought in a run to push the lead to seven. Dillon Sears hit into a fielders’ choice to second, retiring Webb while driving in Hays to make it 8-0. Two batters later, a Leeper groundout knocked Baskin in to build the Fremont lead to 9-0.
No Moo player had more than one hit, though Webb drove in two runs. White and Hays reached base three times each for Fremont.
