Dana Marie Arnold, 80, of Fremont Nebraska, passed peacefully on to her eternal home at Nye Square on May 18th, 2021.
She was born to Dan and Bertha (Schmidt) Hansen on December 16, 1940 in Loup City, Nebraska. She married Robert L. Arnold on July 10th, 1960, in Grand Island, Nebraska.
In 1965, they moved to Fremont, Nebraska where Dana was a homemaker until her children grew into their school age years. She became a librarian for Fremont Public Schools working at Davenport, Linden and Howard Elementary schools. After leaving from the school system she worked at Accent Services Collection Agency and Tekservices. After leaving Tekservices, she continued her love for children by babysitting her grandchildren and pastors’ children. Dana returned to the school system at FPS in 2007 as a librarian para until she retired in 2016, due to health concerns. Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, reading, planting flowers, and gatherings with friends and family.
Dana was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Arnold, parents Dan and Bertha (Schmidt) Hansen, brother Ervin Hansen, nephew Ralph Klein and great-grandchildren Millie and Massie Reid.
She is survived by her two sons: Ron (Debbie) Arnold of Ely, England and Mark Arnold of Fremont; one daughter Connie (Jim) Svatora of Fremont; sister Irene (Harlan) Klein of Grand Island; two sister-in-laws JoAnn (Glen) Kemper and Cheryl Hansen of Crestview, FL.; seven grandchildren: Shana (Anthony) Arnold-Delaney of Ewa Beach, Oahu, HI; Keith (Teri) Arnold of St. Louis, MO; Bailey (Jack) Reid of Littleport, England; Ciara Arnold (special friend Ian) of Washington; Thomas Arnold of Ewa Beach, Oahu, HI; Haley (BJ) Mauer of Fremont; and Shelby Svatora of Fremont; seven great grandchildren: Finley and Mary Arnold-Delaney; Alana Arnold; Alfie, Nora and Harry Reid; Rylan Mauer.
The Memorial service will be 10:00am, Thursday May 27, 2021at First Lutheran Church in Fremont (Livestream at www.Flcfremont.org) with Pastor Ernesto Medina officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Cemetery.
There will be no viewing, however, family will receive friends at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont on Wednesday, May 26th from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, Dana had requested memorials be given to First Lutheran Church or the Fremont Public School Foundation.
