FREMONT – Here’s a look at local sports today with Rich Ray:

Track & Field

The Fremont High track and field teams competed in the Heartland Athletic Conference Meet at Grand Island Senior High, Wednesday.  The boys were the HAC runner-up, while the girls are the HAC Champions.
On the boys side, Fremont scored 99 points.  Kearney was first with 147.50 points.  Tyson Baker won the 400 in 50.59.  The Tiger 4×800 relay of Nolan Miller, Owen Wagner, Carter Waters and Braden Taylor was first at 8:03.06.
In girls action, Fremont was first with 139 points.  Lincoln Southwest was second with 116.50 points.  Elli Dahl won the 3200 in 11:12.86.  The Tiger 4×100 relay of Ella Cooper, Sydney Glause, Emmalee Sheppard and Tania Gleason were first in 49.93.  Fremont’s 4×400 relay of Glause, Lucy Dillon, Sheppard and Mara Hemmer were first in 4:05.38.  The Fremont 4×800 relay of Emily Nau, Hemmer, Maris Dahl and Taylor McCabe was first, and set a HAC Meet record, in 9:38.73.  Hailey Newill won the pole vault at 10-0.
