Barnes and Tremayne Selected as Honorable Mention All-America

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The NAIA has released the 2021 Spring AFCA NAIA Coaches’ All-American Team this week. Midland University had a pair of players earn honorable mention recognition following a solid season on the gridiron.
Charles Barnes III, a senior from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, earned a spot on the honorable mention list as a linebacker. This season amassed 41 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and had three interceptions for the Warriors. He returned one of his picks back for a touchdown.
Dalton Tremayne, a junior from Ponca, Nebraska, earned recognition as an all-purpose player. He did a little bit of everything for Midland this season as a wide receiver and return specialist. On offense, he had 328 of total offense. In the return game, he had 193 punt return yards and 426 kick return yards. He had one kick return for a touchdown.
The GPAC was well represented on the All-American Team with 15 honorees. That includes Northwestern quarterback Tyson Kooima, who was named the Offensive Player of the Year.
The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best — the coaches themselves.
