High School Sports
Fremont High School boys soccer took on Lincoln Southeast last night at Seacrest Field. Lincoln Southeast defeated Fremont, 2-0.
The Archbishop Bergan baseball team advanced to the semifinals of the HAC Tournament with a 7-1 victory over Grand Island, yesterday, at Densmore Field, in Lincoln. Dawson Glause earned the win on the mound, pitching six innings, giving up one run on five hits, while striking out three. Sam Gifford went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Julius Cortes was 3-for-4 with three rbi’s and a stolen base, and Jax Sorensen was 2-for-4 with an rbi. Bergan is 7-2 and will play Lincoln Southwest in the semifinals today at 3:00 at Den Hartog Field. The game will be broadcast on Mix 105.5, FM.
In girls high school tennis, Bennington defeated Blair, 6-3.
In the 3rd place boys soccer EMC contest, Blair downed Waverly, 3-1.
Midland U
The Midland women’s hockey team opened the ACHA National Tournament with a 3-0 win over McKendree, in Minot, North Dakota, Thursday. Midland plays Minot State at 1:00, today.
The Midland men’s golf team finished sixth in the Northwestern Red Raider Open at Landsmeer Golf Course, in Orange City, Iowa, Thursday. Midland shot a two-round score of 584. Doane and Morningside tied for first with 559’s. Kean Kantor was the top Warrior, tying for 13th with a 143. Kolby Newborg of Northwestern and Conor Schubring of Doane tied for first with 135’s.
The Midland men’s tennis team defeated Northwestern, 7-0, yesterday, in Orange City, Iowa.

The Creighton women’s soccer team gets it’s first chance to play in the Big East Championship as the Bluejays battle #10 Georgetown in the opening semifinals, today, at 1pm.
The Omaha Beef are back in action tomorrow night, host the Sioux City Bandits at Ralston Arena. Kickoff is 6:30pm. The game will be broadcast on Boomer 1420 AM and 94.5 FM.
