Husker Update: Bowling, Tennis, Football – April 12

LINCOLN – Bowling captured a national Championship, tennis improved their season record and Husker football fans will have two opportunities to see the team in action this spring:

Bowling

The Nebraska bowling team completed its NCAA Championship run, downing Arkansas State, 4-1, Saturday night at the AMF Pro Bowl Lanes and in front of a national television audience.
The national title was the sixth NCAA title by the Huskers since 2004 and the eighth since bowling was elevated to varsity sport status at Nebraska in 1998.

Tennis

The Nebraska women’s tennis team improved to 11-4 on the year following a 5-2 win over Rutgers on Sunday. The Huskers won their 12th doubles point of the season and earned four singles wins to close out the match. The Scarlet Knights fall to 3-12 on the year.
The Huskers return home on April 18th as they welcome Iowa to the Dillon Tennis Center for Senior Day.

Spring Football

Nebraska fans will have two opportunities to watch the football team this spring. In addition to the May 1 Red-White Spring Game presented by First National Bank, the Huskers will also open their Saturday, April 17 practice to the public.

    • The April 17 practice will be free to the public and limited to 4,000 individuals.
    • Fans must reserve their mobile ticket for the open practice at Huskers.com/tickets. The tickets will be made available in three groups.  The next group of tickets will be made available on Monday at 6 p.m., with the final group on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
  • The April 17 practice is scheduled for approximately 2:15-4:45 p.m., with gates opening at 1:30 p.m.
