Midland offers vaccinations to students

Midland University is a pioneer in providing COVID-19 vaccinations to students.

On Wednesday, the university became the first in Nebraska, and one of the first in the nation, to offer vaccinations to students on campus.

Officials said about 350 vaccines were provided to students and staff. It was made possible due to the school’s strong connection with the Three Rivers Health Department, said Terra Uhing, the Three Rivers executive director.

Officials said between students and staff, the goal is to have between 80 to 90 percent of the campus — students, faculty and staff — fully vaccinated.
