FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University hosted Briar Cliff University in a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) dual on Wednesday night inside Wikert Event Center. The Warriors were held in check by the Chargers in the first action for either team to start the New Year. BCU soundly defeated Midland, 55-0.
The Chargers remained unbeaten in head-to-head action this season, improving to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the GPAC. Midland dropped their fifth dual of the year and fourth in conference action.
BCU won three weights via forfeit as the Warriors were open at 133-, 149-, and 285-pounds. In the seven matches vied for on the mat, the Chargers earned four pin falls, two major decisions, and one technical fall.
The Warriors will now prepare for the Hastings Open set for this weekend in Hastings. The one-day tournament is set for 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9 in Hastings, Nebraska.
