Local Sports Today with Rich Ray – January 5

FREMONT – Here’s a look at local sports today with Rich Ray:

Midland U

Midland University has announced updates to their attendance policy for all home athletic events. Families of participating athletes will now be permitted via a pass list. For events held inside Wikert Event Center, opposing teams will be allowed to have family members in attendance through a pass list system created through their own  schools. Midland students will be allowed to attend home games with their student ID. Attendance policies at venues off-campus will remain unchanged. At this time, attendance will not be open to the general public.

Husker Basketball

The men’s basketball game between Nebraska and Purdue scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 5, in West Lafayette, Ind., is being postponed. The universities mutually agreed to the postponement out of an abundance of caution surrounding the health and safety of the student-athletes, coaches and staff.  The two schools will work with the Big Ten Conference to reschedule the game.

Creighton

No. 7 Creighton (8-2, 4-1 BIG EAST) hosts its first game of 2021 when it hosts Seton Hall (8-4, 5-1 BIG EAST) in a battle of two teams that tied for the 2019-20 regular-season BIG EAST title.  The Bluejays and Pirates will tip at 8:00 p.m. at CHI Health Center Omaha in Omaha, Neb.
