Local Sports Today with Rich Ray – December 31

FREMONT – Here’s a look at local sports with Rich Ray:
Ashland-Greenwood defeated the Archbishop Bergan boys in the A/G Holiday BasketballTournament, 64-49.  The Bergan boys will play Plattsmouth in the Consolation game, today at 12:15pm.  Both Bergan games will be broadcast on Mix 105.5 FM.
Carter Sintek scored 28 points to lead the Fremont boys over Columbus, 50-41 in a consolation game of the HAC boys tournament, Wednesday, at Lincoln Northeast High School.  Fremont is now 1-7 on the season.
The Blair High girls basketball team claimed the championship of the Omaha Gross Tournament, by downing the host Lady Cougars, 47-45.
The Midland women’s basketball team lost to the University of South Dakota, 89-39, in Vermillion, last night.
Nebraska could not overcome a cold-shooting night, as the Huskers fell at No. 25 Ohio State, 90-54, in Columbus on Wednesday evening.  The Huskers (4-6, 0-3 Big Ten) shot just 28.3 percent on the night, including 24.3 percent in the first half, as Ohio State built a 38-21 halftime lead. The Huskers will return home and take on No. 17 Michigan State Saturday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
