FREMONT – On Monday, December 28, 2020, Fremont Police received two hit and run property damage accident reports.
The first was reported at approximately 4:45 pm in the 2300 block of north Luther Road. A 2012 Chevrolet Equinox was being driven south on Luther Road and was stopped in traffic in the intersection of 23rd Avenue north. A 2nd vehicle, traveling west on 23rd Avenue north, violated a stop sign and struck the rear of the Chevrolet Equinox.
The driver of the 2nd car then fled the scene. The car was described as possibly being a silver Ford Escort. Damage to the Equinox is estimated at $1,000.
The second was reported shortly after at approximately 5:00 pm, in the 1900 block of Bell Street. A 2005 Honda Accord was being driven west on 19th Street. The driver stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with Bell Street and a second vehicle, described as a silver minivan, struck the back of the Accord.
The driver of the van then drove away from the scene. Damage to the Accord is estimated at $500.
