Big Red and FACC Hosting Food Drive for Low Income Ministry

FREMONT – The Big Red Restaurant in Fremont and the Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce are hosting a food drive for Low Income Ministry now through November 23. Items being accepted are canned and boxed goods or any other non-perishable food items.
Becky Pence, the general manager at Big Red’s Fremont location, said she knows that multiple people need help feeding their families right now and Big Red wants to do its part to help.
“Every year we try to give back during hard times, but especially right now. We know that lots of families are in need and Low Income Ministry is a well-known place in town that families go to when they are in need. We are happy to help in any way that we can,” said Pence.
Pence has been working at Big Red for the past 18 years and said that it gives her a lot of joy to put on events like this for the community.
“We’ve probably been doing a canned food drive on and off for the past 10 years, and we put on multiple other types of events throughout the year as well. We have such strong leadership here at Big Red and I love what I do,” Pence continued saying the environment at Big Red is what makes all the difference. “That’s what makes putting these events on so special. We work hard together to provide a great restaurant for the Fremont community, and we love to give back for all of their support.”
