FREMONT- On Friday, October 16, at approximately 8:00 am, Edwin JR Caceres, 36, of Fremont was charged with several offenses following a disturbance at a residence in the 1300 block of north Maxwell Avenue.
Officers were dispatched to the residence after it was reported a witness saw a man assaulting a woman. Upon arrival, officers knocked on the front door and were greeted by Caceres who had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
A brief struggle ensued with Caceres after he attempted to shut the door on the officers, but Fremont police were able to take him into custody.
During a search incident to arrest, a small amount of methamphetamine was found. Caceres was charged with assault, possession of a controlled substance, disorderly conduct, obstruction, resisting arrest, and being a habitual criminal.
