James Spelbring Donelan, M.D.
October 9, 1933 – October 1, 2020
 
James was the first son of James P. and Genevieve (Spelbring) Donelan born on October 9, 1933 at Hollywood Hospital in Hollywood, California.  Jim died at the age of 86 in Fremont, NE.  He graduated from Benson High School in Omaha (1951); University of Nebraska Medical Center with his M.D. degree (1955); completed his training at University of Washington in Anesthesiology (1964); returned to Omaha, NE. where he practiced Anesthesia for 30 years; served two years in the US Army Medical Corp at Ft. Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma.
On June 30, 1957, he was united in marriage to Patricia A. Uehling at the First Methodist Church in Oakland, NE.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons.  His favorite memories were of the time spent with his family at their sandpit in Leshara, NE. and at the family cabin in Minnesota.
 
Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Donelan.
 
Survived by his wife, Patty; sons, James Mark (Sonja) Donelan of Loveland, CO. and Matthew B. (Debra) Donelan of Fremont, NE; brother, John P. (Susan) Donelan of Henning, MN; grandchildren, Samantha Donelan of Loveland, CO., Blake (Laura) Donelan of Omaha, NE, Alison (Donny) Torres of Denver, CO., Patrick Donelan of Omaha, NE. and James Sean Donelan of Fort Carson, CO.
 
Private family graveside service at Uehling Nebraska Cemetery with Military Honors.
There will be no visitation.
 
Memorials to Ducks Unlimited, American Cancer Society, Dodge County Humane Society or charity of your choice.
