DODGE COUNTY – The November 3rd General Election is fast approaching and all of the deadlines and possible ways to vote can become confusing for many people during this time.
Look no further than KHUB/KFMT to help you navigate through all of your voting questions. We want to make sure your voice is heard this November and that your vote will count!
Here’s what you need to know about those deadlines:
Voter Registration Deadlines
- Register online: Oct. 16
- Register by mail: Postmarked by Oct. 16
- Register in person: Oct. 23 (The Dodge County Courthouse will be open until 6 pm that day)

In Nebraska, you do not need a reason to vote absentee (by mail) or early in-person. If voting at the polls, you do not need to show I.D. unless you are a first-time voter in Nebraska.
Absentee (Early Voting) Ballot Deadlines
- Request a ballot: Oct. 23
- Return a ballot by mail: Received by Nov. 3 by 8:00 p.m. CT
- Return a ballot in person: Nov. 3 by 8:00 p.m. CT

- Dodge County began to send out Early Voter Ballots on September 28.
Early Voting In-person
- You can begin to vote early, in-person at the courthouse on Oct. 5
- The deadlines to vote early, in-person is Nov. 2
You can return your ballots early by mail or by dropping them off at the Dodge County Courthouse located at 435 N. Park Avenue in Fremont, NE 68025.
There is a drop-box in the entry-way of the courthouse as well as in the alley between the courthouse and the judicial center. Dodge County City Clerk, Fred Mytty, says you can find this dropbox by entering the alley from 4th Street and the red dropbox would be located on the left side. You do not need to leave your vehicle to deposit it.
