City News This Week – September 21

FREMONT – Among other updates this week, City Administrator Brian Newton shared an update from Fremont’s Animal Control Citizen Advisory Board.
Each City Council member appointed a citizen to the Animal Control Citizen Advisory Board for the purpose of reviewing the City’s contract with the Dodge County Humane Society for animal control. That Board wrapped up its review of the contract last week, approving a report to send to the City Council. Administrator Brian Newton explained more to Bob Flittie:

The report assembled by the Citizen Advisory Board will go to the Council at its meeting next week.
In other City news this week, the City of Fremont will host a public information display on Tuesday evening at Christensen Field to educate the public on the need for the proposed Joint City-County Law Enforcement Center:

Finally, anyone driving Highway 275 between Fremont and Omaha would have noticed the electronic sign alerting motorists to a “Bridge Project” to start at 7:00 Monday morning. Bob Flittie and Brian Newton talked about that “bridge” project during Monday’s radio interview. Both agreed that “bridge” really meant “overpass.” Newton noted that there will be three overpasses to be constructed as part of the Southeast Bypass for Fremont:
