FREMONT – Local contests in golf, cross country, and volleyball from Thursday are in the books, with football and tennis and more Midland golf coming up today.
Golf
The Fremont High girls golf team finished sixth in the Lincoln Southeast Invite at Highlands Golf Course, shooting a 404. Papillion LaVista South was first at 344. Maggie Norris shot a 98. Alyssa Walters shot a 99. Emma Benson shot a 100. Mirium Huss shot 107 and Zoey Kallio shot a 113. Kaelyn Panko of Papillion LaVista South was the meet medalist with an 82.
The Bergan Knights had three golfers compete in the Lakeview Invite at Quail Run in Columbus. Jocelyn Kumm shot a 105, Olivia Fedde shot a 110 and Olivia Prauner shot a 116. Columbus Scotus won the meet with a 361. Olivia Lovegrove of Lincoln Christian was the meet medalist with a 77.
Cross Country
The Joe Wojtkiewicz Cross Country Invite was held at Camp Calvin Crest yesterday. The Bergan boys placed sixth with 110 points. Sam Sleister led the way for Bergan, finishing 13th in 21:29. Aquinas Catholic won the meet with 10 points. Payton Davis finished first in 18:18.
The Bergan girls ran thee athletes. Jadin Ostrand, Sophie O’Neill and Emma Larson, who finished ninth, tenth and eleventh. North Bend Central won the meet with 14 points. Hannah Williams was the meet medalist in 23:08.
Volleyball
The Bergan Knights volleyball team defeated Homer, last night, three sets to none, 25-16, 25-19, 25-8. Lauren Baker had 11 kills, Rebecca Baker had 22 set assists and Summer Bojanski had nine digs.
