FREMONT – Fall competitions for our local high school athletes have continued on this week, with golf, softball and volleyball contests completed last night for Fremont High, Bergan and Blair.
Golf
The Fremont High Girls Golf Team competed in the Lincoln Pius X Shootout at Woodland Hills Golf Course, yesterday, and finished 17th shooting a 462. Millard North was first at 328. The Tigers Allysa Walters finished 13th, shooting an 84. Miriam Huss shot 116. Maggie Norris shot 126 and Zoey Kallio shot 136. Coco Kolbas of Lincoln Pius X was the meet medalist, shooting a 67.
The Bergan girls golf team hosted Arlington and a pair of Fremont JV players at the Fremont Golf Club yesterday. Bergan’s Jocelyn Kumm shot a 55. Olivia Prauner shot 64 and Olivia Fedde shot a 70. Mara Huss shot 77 for Fremont and Haylee Bates shot an 80. Arlington was led by Diana Taylor with a 61.
Softball
The Fremont High softball team traveled to Bellevue to take on the Bellevue East Chieftains, and lost 6-5. Ella Cooper suffered the loss, striking out nine and giving up nine hits, five runs, three earned. Anna Prauner led the Tiger offense with two doubles and a triple. Fremont is 6-4 and hosts Lincoln East in a doubleheader, tomorrow night.
Norris defeated Blair on Tuesday night, delivering a shut out 5-0 victory over the Bears.
Volleyball
Fremont def. Lincoln Northeast, 25-27, 25-14, 25-22, 25-13 (3-1). Fremont is 4-0 on the season and hosts Lincoln North Star tomorrow night.
The Bergan volleyball team hosted Lincoln Christian last night and record a 3-0 victory, 25-19, 25-22, 25-18. Katelyn Mlnarik led Bergan with 10 kills. Summer Bojanski had 12 digs and Rebecca Baker had 26 set assists. Bergan is 2-0 and will play North Bend Central and GACC in the Northeast Nebraska Classic, at North Bend Central, tomorrow night.
