Local Sports with Rich Ray – August 31

FREMONT – Local teams brought home some sizable wins in multiple sports over the weekend in football, volleyball, softball and cross country. Plus, Fremont’s girls’ golf team and Fremont boys’ tennis competed well in their contests this weekend.
In high school football:

Bergan- 41- Yutan- 13

In high school volleyball

Fremont def. Lincoln Northeast, 25-19, 25-20 (2-0)
Fremont def. Omaha Mercy, 25-17, 25-19 (2-0)

In high school softball:

Fremont 12, Arlington 3
Fremont 6, Omaha Westside 0
Blair 6, Fremont 5
Blair 13, Ashland-Greenwood 1
Blair 14, Bellevue West 0

In high school cross country:
GIRLS:

Shelby Bracker – 20:26.5 to win the meet
Mari Dahl, took second in a time of 20:41.29.
Emily Nau and Lucy Dillon finished 4th & 5th.

BOYS:

Owen Wager first at 16:57.23.
Carter Waters second place, three seconds later at, 17:00.38.
Nolan Miller came through in fifth with a time of 17:06.73.

Fremont Girls Golf – 12^th at the Kearney Invite at Awarii Dunes CC with a 472. Alyssa Walters led Fremont with a 93, finishing 32^nd.
Fremont Boys Tennis – 4th at the Lincoln High/LNE Invite with 50 points.
