25 New COVID-19 Cases Since Monday; Dodge County Now in Orange Risk Level

FREMONT – Three Rivers Public Health Department (3RPHD)  reported 25 new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases since Monday’s update:

  • Dodge County: 836 cases (+13)
  • Saunders County:  166 cases (+9)
  • Washington County:  126 cases (+3)

Total 3RPHD Case Count: 1128 cases (+25 since Monday)
Dodge county is 5th in the State of Nebraska for positive cases over the last 14 days.
The Community Risk Dial received its weekly update today, showing an elevated risk this week over last week in both Dodge and Saunders counties. Washington county’s risk is reduced this week. Notably, Dodge county and the district as a whole have now moved into the high risk or “COVID Orange” category.
Comparing the week of July 26 to the week of August 2nd (the most recent two complete weeks of data) the positivity rate of COVID-19 tests has risen nearly 3% in the district overall, for a total positivity rate of 8.15% for the week beginning August 2nd.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Omaha Metropolitan Health Care Coalition (OMHCC) which consists of Dodge, Saunders, Washington, Douglas and Sarpy county hospitals reported 231 medical beds available and 109 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 431 ventilators available to area hospitals, 131 were in use, including 15 for confirmed or suspect COVID-19 patients.
“As we are getting kids back into school it is imperative that we all do our part stay home if you are sick or if you have been around someone who has tested positive for COVID-19”, said Three Rivers Public Health Executive Director, Terra Uhing.
