FSB Seniors Bow to Union Bank 3-0

LINCOLN – The First State Bank American Legion Seniors baseball team traveled to Sherman Field in Lincoln Thursday night, and battled Union Bank and Trust (Lincoln Pius X), in a pitcher’s dual, only to bow to Union Bank, 3-0.
The game was scoreless going into the bottom of the sixth, then Union Bank sent eight batters to the plate and scored all three of the games runs.  Ben Mitchell pitched the complete game for the victory, giving up seven hits, striking out four and walking four.  Brady Benson started for First State, working four innings, giving up one hit, striking out four and walking one.  Hunter Mueller pitched the final two innings, giving up three runs on three hits, with one strike out and two walks, while suffering the loss.  Union Bank had just four hits in the contest.  First State was led offensively by Mueller, going 2-for-3.
Union Bank is 17-6 on the season and plays at the Millard Sox Black, tomorrow.  First State is 8-8 and hosts Omaha Creighton Prep, tomorrow at 1:00 at Novak Field.  That game will be broadcast on Big Dog Country, 98.9 FM and 1340 AM.
