The Fremont Cosmopolitan Club 100 Continues To Fight To Find The Cure For Diabetes

FREMONT- The Fremont Cosmopolitan Club 100 is a service club for men and women in connection with Cosmopolitan International. Its main mission is to fight and find a cure for the 7th leading cause of death in the world, known as diabetes.
The Fremont Cosmopolitan Club was chartered 56 years ago and in a recent 14 year period raised $127,300. The proceeds went towards Diabetes-related and community-related causes. The club currently has 53 members. It largely focuses on supporting efforts to prevent and find a cure for diabetes, but it also supports local communities in many ways.
 

Cosmopolitan Club Fundraisers in Fremont

  • J.C. Fremont Days Pancake Feed
  • KHUB Polka Party
  • Diabetes Cash or Sporting Equipment Raffle
  • Yearly Football Raffle

These funds go directly to diabetes-related causes including:

  • Diabetes Research
  • Diabetes Camp for Youths – Camp Floyd Rogers

 

Upcoming Events

Due to Covid-19, John C. Fremont Days were canceled this year and The Fremont Cosmopolitan Club could not hold its pancake feed. Instead, the club will be holding the pancake feed during Summer Fest.
Summer Fest Fundraiser Event Details

  • Saturday, July 25th from 7:30-11 am
  • Located at L.A. Fireproof Door in Fremont
  • Tickets are available in advance for $7, $8 at the door
  • Children under the age of 5 are free

 

Become a Member

The Fremont Cosmopolitan Club is looking for new members. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the club is only meeting every other Friday but normally meets once a week.
“The club gives many opportunities to help the community, fight diabetes, and meet great people. I love this club and hope that more can find joy in it as well. Helping people is the greatest thing we can do.” said President-Elect Judy Getzschman.

Cosmopolitan International began as a men’s social club in 1918 in Kansas City, Missouri.  The name Cosmopolitan was selected because of the meaning of “citizen of the world.” Cosmopolitan International took on diabetes as its International Project in 1977.
