FREMONT – Three Rivers Public Health Department (3RPHD) reported 23 new l lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases within the district from test results received on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. These new cases bring the totals by county to:
- Dodge County: 590 cases
- Saunders County: 55 cases
- Washington County: 36 cases
Total 3RPHD Case Count: 681 cases
As of Wednesday morning, local hospitals reported 331 medical beds were available – this is 100 fewer beds than Monday’s count. 137 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19, five new hospitalizations over the last two days. Of the 367 ventilators available to area hospitals, 129 were in use, including 39 for confirmed COVID-19 patients.
3RPHD also reported Dodge county’s third COVID-19 related death: that of a woman in her 50s. Deaths are attributed to COVID-19 when a person has an active COVID-19 infection and dies as a direct cause of the bodily symptoms that infection causes.
