Trio of Warriors Named to All-GPAC Golf Team

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the 2019-20 Men’s Golf All-Conference selections. Cody Trout, Kean Kontor, and Peyton Koch each represented Midland University on the team featuring the GPAC’s top golfers.
Trout, a senior from Kearney, Nebraska, earns his second all-conference honor after being named to the team a year ago. This season he finished in a tie for 5th as an individual in the shortened GPAC Championship.
Kontor, a senior from Lincoln, Nebraska, also finished in the top ten individually at the conference meet. This is his first all-conference selection as a Warrior.
Koch, a sophomore from Omaha, Nebraska, is also making his first all-conference team selection. In this year’s 36-hole championship, he placed 11th as an individual. As a team the Warriors ended up 3rd behind Morningside and Doane.
Jonny Douglas from Morningside has been named the Men’s Golfer-of-the-year. Douglas claimed overall medalist honors for the GPAC Championships with a 36-hole score of 142 (-2) to out-distance the field.
Todd Sapp from Morningside has been selected as the Men’s Golf Coach-of-the-Year.  Sapp coached the Mustangs to the team title this year with a two-round total of 588, 34 strokes better than second place Doane.
