Nye Square Gets A Fun Music Treat

FREMONT- Assisted living center, Nye Square, received a fun-filled afternoon when Mike Semrad Jr. and Mike McCracken hopped into a portable bicycle stage and played some tunes for the residents.
“This was kind of a two-fold. Not only were we bringing incredible music and joy to folks who are quarantined and feeling alone at the moment, but we were also able to bring a positive light to the staff and on-lookers walking and driving by,” said musician Mike Semrad.
Owner of Springo, Dan Warren, got in touch with Semrad after seeing his Facebook live videos performing for people on streets and around towns. Warren asked him if he could help provide an easier way for him to get around and perform for people during this pandemic and Semrad jumped at the opportunity.
“I asked him, I said, how about we take this to the streets? He was very open to it and so we’re going to continue doing this for people in the area. Our next stop is Lincoln, NE, and from there who knows where this will take us. I’m enjoying it,” said Semrad. “Any time I can get out and make someone smile or tap their foot to the music, it just makes me so happy. No matter if they are watching from a bed, window, porch, whatever it may be, it’s a very positive experience for everyone.”
