Three Rivers Public Health Department (3RPHD) has identified 13 cases of COVID-19 from yesterday and today.
Sadly there is a reported death in Saunders County from earlier in the week; a male in his 70s who had underlying health conditions. This is the second death within the health district. The positive cases consist of the following:
May 7th, 2020 – 8 new cases
These cases are all Dodge County Residents. The contact investigations are completed and all close contacts will self-quarantine. There are 4 males and 4 females between the ages of 28-47 years of age among these test results.
May 8th, 2020-5 new cases
These cases include 4 Dodge County Residents, and 1 Saunders County Resident. The Dodge County residents consist of 3 males and 1 female between the ages of 26-66 years of age. The Saunders County resident is a minor. These contact investigations are just beginning.
As of Friday morning, local hospitals reported 474 medical surge beds were available and 88 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 360 ventilators available to area hospitals, 135 were in use, including 35 for confirmed COVID-19 patients.
Assume that COVID-19 is present in all our communities and conduct yourself accordingly. Dodge County now has 150 cases, Washington County has 23 cases and Saunders County has 12 cases. This brings the 3RPHD health jurisdiction total to 185 cases.
Please be aware of the COVID-19 symptoms, which may include a fever, cough, sore throat, severe fatigue, loss of taste and smell or difficulty breathing. In most cases, a person will have more than one of these symptoms. Anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms or develops symptoms should contact their health care provider and tell them how you are feeling and any possible history of exposure. Please call ahead before you go to the doctor’s office or an emergency room.
