Shirley A. Baumert, 78 years, of Fremont, Nebraska passed away, Friday, May 1, 2020 at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont.  She was born February 21, 1942 in Hartville, MO to Glenn William and Bessie (Cochran) Kelley.
Shirley grew up in Rulo, NE and resided in Falls city, working at the Falls City Meat Company, Elks Club, and the Wagon Wheel Restaurant.  Shirley married Tom Stephens in 1959, they later divorced.  Shirley married Dale Baumert in 1982. She came to Fremont in 1989 and worked as the Laundry Coordinator at FAMC for 20 years.
She was a member of Fremont Church of Christ.  Shirley was a terrific babysitter for both her family and friends.  She loved gardening, flowers, ice-cream, diet coke, and scary movies.
Shirley is survived by sons, Farrell Stephens of North Little Rock, Ak, Brad (Kelli) Baumert of Bennington, NE; daughter, Stacy Stephens of Fremont, NE; extended family, Troy (Hilary) Everson of Fruita, CO; sister, Lois Rhodd of Pawnee City, NE; grandchildren, Rachel Knowlton of North Little Rock, AR, Kortnie (James) Williams of Fremont, Cody (Ashley) Stephens of Hot Springs, AR Bella and Tyson Baumnert of Bennington, NE; great grandchildren, Branden, Cameron, Miriam, Izzy; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; 6 brothers and 5 sisters.
Due to the current Covid situation, a Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Dunklau Gardens Activities Department.
