The Nebraska Trucking Association Gives Out Lunches to Truckers Passing Through Fremont

FREMONT- On April 24th, 2020, the Nebraska Trucking Association stood outside of the Fremont, NE, Sapp Brothers location on HWY 375 and HWY 77 and handed out lunch vouchers and hand sanitizer.
“We wanted to roll out our Thank a Trucker series of events across the state where we can buy them lunch, provide them with supplies and a variety of other things. [We want to] show these drivers that are working extra-hard… and going through some real hardships while they’re out there on the road, how much we appreciate them,” said, President of the NTA, Kent Grisham.
This is the 7th location in Nebraska that NTA has held this event. They have handed out over 1,000 vouchers thus far and hope to reach many more truckers in the weeks to come.
Grisham stated that about half of all communities in Nebraska receive everything that they need and use through trucks alone. No plane, trains, or other modes of transportation bring in the supplies, goods, and materials that those communities need.
You can participate and show your participation in many ways Grisham said, “It doesn’t have to be money or a free lunch. You can do something as simple as wave, salute, and of course the old fashioned pull on the air horn chain as you see them going by. Just something that lets them know you see them, you’re here for them, and we appreciate all that you’re doing.”
