Fremont Airport to Receive CARES Act Airport Funds

FREMONT – Fremont’s City Airport will receive funds from the federal government as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief & Economic Security Act, along with five other airports in the region.
Fremont’s airport will receive $69,000 in CARES Act funds. The act included $10 billion in funding for economic relief to airports across the U.S.
Other communities in Nebraska received varying amounts:

  • Norfolk – $69,000
  • Hastings – $30,000
  • Blair – $69,000
  • North Platte – $3,859,446
  • Scottsbluff – $1,058,818

Fremont’s airport is classified as a Basic Airport that supports emergency services, charter passenger service, cargo operation, flight training, and personal flying. North Platte and Scottsbluff are considered Regional Airports with commuter service.
The Fremont Airport just received notification about the funds yesterday. City and airport officials will meet to discuss the allocation of the CARES funds within the coming days.
