Three Rivers Public Health Department Discloses Two New Cases Wednesday

FREMONT – Three Rivers Public Health Department (3RPHD) has identified and disclosed two additional cases of COVID-19 as of Wednesday evening.
The first case is that of a Dodge County resident in his 40s. This case was determined to be community acquired, and the man is self-isolating at home. This is Dodge County’s 19th case.
The second case is a Washington County resident in his 60s who is also self-isolating at home. This case was also determined to be community acquired. This is Washington County’s 22nd case.
Contact investigations for both new cases have been completed, and the identified close contacts will self-quarantine and be actively monitored twice daily by public health officials for fever and respiratory symptoms.
Community acquired cases now account for the majority of new cases in our area over the last 10 days. It is extremely important to maintain social distance, and to stay home if you are sick, especially if you have COVID-19 symptoms, which may include a fever, cough, sore throat, severe fatigue or difficulty breathing.
Do not mix households or hold gatherings. Wear a mask in public, wash your hands frequently, and sanitize items that you bring into your home.
These new cases bring the 3RPHD health jurisdiction total to 48 cases. Nebraska has 1,813 cases as of 5:45 Wednesday evening; 17,394 tests have been completed statewide since the outbreak began six weeks ago. 42 people have died.
