FREMONT – Three Rivers Public Health Department (3RPHD) has identified two new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the tri-county health district

The first case is a Dodge county resident and close contact of the case identified at the Saunders County Department of Corrections on April 1, 2020. This case is also the 4th case within that organization.  The patient is a female in her 20s, and is self-isolating at home. This is Dodge County’s 7th case.

The second new case tonight is a Washington County resident in her 30s who is self-isolating at home.  The origin of this infection was not specified by the health department. This is Washington county’s 20th case.

Contact investigations are currently being completed for both cases. All identified close contacts will self-quarantine for a minimum of 14 days, and will be actively monitored twice daily by public health officials for fever and respiratory symptoms.

As of Sunday night, the state of Nebraska currently has 367 cases, and the United States as a whole has 337,274.

The Three Rivers Public Health Department will continue to update the community as new information becomes available.
