Police Deploy TASER Device to Bring Armed Man Into Custody

FREMONT – Last night, police officers responding to the scene of an assault had to deploy a TASER device to bring the conflict to an end.

Just before 11PM on Wednesday night, Fremont Police responded to an address in the 2000 block of Park Place drive to investigate an emergency call for help. A man, armed with multiple knives, had reportedly assaulted a pregnant relative and was still on the scene. When officers arrived on the scene, the man – Cody R. Moser, 21, of Fremont – became belligerent, brandishing knives, making threats, and spitting on at least one of the responders. Moser repeatedly refused to comply with the responding officers’ commands, and in order to keep Moser from attacking anyone else, police deployed a TASER device to bring him into custody.

Moser was charged with 3rd Degree Assault – Enhanced, with the enhancement charge added due to the fact that his victim is pregnant. Additionally, Moser will face charges of 3rd Degree Assault on an Officer, Assault with a Bodily Fluid, Terroristic Threats, Disturbing the Peace, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, and Disorderly Conduct.
