Defending Champs move on in C1 Bracket

LINCOLN – Class C1 #2 Wahoo withstood and early scoring barrage from Boys Town and hit outside shots in the 2nd and 3rd to beat the Cowboys 64-50 in a Class C1 state quarterfinal on Thursday.

Trailing 16-9, the Warriors ended the 2nd quarter on an 18-6 run, building a lead they would not relenquish.

Boys Town struggled from beyond the arc, missing their first 18 attempts. They were able to trim Wahoo’s lead to 4 late in the 4th quarter, but 6 late points by Wahoo senior Winston Cook sealed the win.

Wahoo moves on to the semi-finals Friday to face #3 Auburn.
