Alcohol Impairment Causes Saturday Morning Property Damage Accident

FREMONT – An alcohol impaired driver racked up a series of nine charges after a Saturday morning property damage accident turned into an altercation with police.

On Saturday 12/01/2018 at approximately 11:00AM Beverly L. McDonald, 52, of Fremont was arrested on suspicion of numerous charges following a hit and run property damage accident complaint in the 1200 block of east Dodge Street.

McDonald was observed operating a motor vehicle and striking a wooden pole.  McDonald then drove away and pulled over to the curb a short distance away. Responding officers found McDonald slumped over the steering wheel and showing signs of impairment consistent with the consumption of alcoholic beverages and she was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol.  McDonald resisted arrest and refused to comply with officer’s instructions.

In addition to the DUI charge, she was additionally cited for refusing to submit to a preliminary breath test, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, possessing or consuming an open container of an alcoholic beverage, resisting arrest, no valid registration, no proof of insurance, fictitious plates and no proof of ownership.
