The Nebraska State Patrol made a number of arrests and took almost three dozen drivers off the roads during a recent enforcement effort.
During the recent Click It or Ticket campaign, which ran from Nov. 20 through Sunday, the patrol said 33 motorists were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and two more were arrested on suspicion of drugged driving.
Troopers also issued 1,175 speeding citations, 78 seat-belt citations, 58 driving-under-suspension citations, 29 open-container citations, 30 citations alleging no proof of insurance and 10 citations alleging improper child safety restraint.
Troopers also arrested 62 people on suspicion of drug possession and nabbed 14 fugitives.
The effort was paid for in part by an $18,000 grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office.
