Gov. Ricketts Presents Grow Nebraska Report

LINCOLN – Gov. Pete Ricketts released a report on Growing Nebraska this week.

He said Nebraska has achieved 1 million non-farm jobs for a third year in a row and the state’s population grew by over 11,000 people.

The governor noted Site Selection magazine’s listing of Nebraska for the most economic development projects per capita and top five rankings for fiscal condition, cost of doing business, wage growth  and states favorable for business.

New investments this year include:

Facebook data center Papillion

Prairie Catalytic plant at Columbus

Kawasaki rail car contract

BD investments over two years totaled $340 million.

The governor said Nebraska continues to develop its people with a youth talent initiative, apprenticeship programs and job opportunities for families receiving food stamps.

He said President Trump has been helping the state at the federal level approving E-15 for year-round use.
