Oran L. Foxworthy age 77 of Fremont passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Versailles, Missouri. He was born April 27, 1942 in Versailles, MO to Ora and Lois (Deffenbaugh) Foxworthy. He grew up in Versailles and graduated from high school there and then came to Fremont to attend Midland. Oran married Linda (Strong) on February 19, 1966 in Fremont. She preceded him in death on April 23, 2009. He worked for Hormel in Fremont for a few years and then started at Harrs Restaurant in Waterloo, NE. He worked there as their chef until they closed in 2007.
Oran was a member of the Fremont Eagles Club, former member of Izaak Walton in Fremont and was on several billiard leagues, bowling leagues, loved playing cards, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Mike Foxworthy of Nashville, Tennessee; daughters, Lee Ann Ruwe (Daniel Cleary) and Jodi (Glen) Barton all of Fremont ; sisters, Dorothy M. Haar of Fremont and Mary Via of Indianapolis, Indiana; 8 grandchildren, Courtney, Jacob (Kim), Lauren, Emily (Billy), Zachary, Ryan (Alesha), Joshua and Myah and 7 great grandchildren.
Oran was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Jack and Vencil Foxworthy; sister Rose Marriott and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Scott Jensen will officiate. Memorial Visitation will be on Monday from 3-8 PM and with the family receiving friends from 6-8 Pm also at Moser’s. Military Honors conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of VFW Post #854 and American Legion Post #20 will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials are suggested to the Dodge County Humane Society or the American Heart Association.
