Warriors Sit Third after Two Rounds of GPAC Golf Championship

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –Midland University’s men’s golf team sits in third place after the fall qualifying rounds of the Great Plains Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship. The first two rounds were played this Monday and Tuesday at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Defending GPAC champion Northwestern sits atop the team standings with a score of 568, eight over par. Morningside is second with a 574 (+14) and Midland is third with a team score of 583 (+23).

Individually, junior Kean Kontor sits in 9th place with the low score for the Warriors, shooting a 5-over par (145). Northwestern’s Caleb Badura finished at 2-under par (138) is the leader at the halfway point.

Joining Kontor on the Midland team for the first two rounds were:  junior Cody Troudt (T-10, +6), junior Mike Myers (T-15, +8), senior Joe Vest (T-18, +9), and senior Luke Janning (T-27, +12).

Midland will hit the course a few more times this fall. The coming on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13 in Norfolk, Nebraska for the Nebraska Intercollegiate. Tee times are set for 1:00 p.m. on October 12 and for 9:00 p.m. on October 13.
