FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University head men’s soccer coach Raphael Martinez has officially released the Warriors’ 2018 schedule. The schedule features nine home matches at Heedum Field including the first three contests to begin the season.
Midland will open up their 2018 season a non-conference match with McPherson on August 25 at 7:30 p.m. Graceland and Friends will come to Fremont before the Warriors play their first road contest at Ottawa on September 8.
The GPAC slate begins on September 16 as the Warriors take on new conference foe Presentation at home. They are one of two new schools who have joined the conference, Jamestown is the other. The growth of the conference will be substantial at the end of the season. With the GPAC at 12 teams, there will be two automatic bids to the NAIA Opening Round from the conference.
Midland will finish the regular season much like they started it, with three straight home matches. Last year the Warriors finished fourth in the conference with a 6-3 mark. They had an overall record of 11-8.
“We are looking forward to the upcoming season,” commented Coach Martinez. “Starting and finishing with three home games is ideal as we look to gain momentum in the regular season and then heading into the conference tournament. We’ve put together a strong non-conference schedule that will hopefully prepare us for a tough GPAC slate.”
