Warriors Land Three on All-GPAC Golf Teams

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has released their 2018 Men’s and Women’s Golf All-Conference teams. Midland University landed two golfers on the men’s team and one on the women’s team based on their play during this year’s 72-hole GPAC Qualifying Tournament.

Joe Vest and Hunter Giesselmann were named to the men’s team. Both golfers placed in the Top 15 individually during the tournament leading Midland to a fourth-place finish.

Jessie Rehtus was named to the women’s team. She finished sixth in the GPAC Qualifier and helped the Lady Warriors climb the leaderboard on the final day from seventh to fifth-place as a team.

Justin Kraft of Northwestern College was named the GPAC Men’s Golfer of the Year. He claimed the overall medalist honors for his play during qualifiers, where he won the individual title. His coach, Aaron Aberson, was named the Men’s Coach of the Year.

Samantha Knight of Morningside College was selected at the GPAC Women’s Golfer of the Year. She also won the individual title at the GPAC Qualifiers. Her coach, Todd Sapp, won the Women’s Coach of the Year honors as the Mustangs also won the team title.
